Sliding bearings

Plain bearings, or sliding bearings, are a type of bearings that operate on the principle of sliding or gliding between two surfaces. Unlike rolling bearings, they do not have rolling elements such as balls or rollers. Instead, they rely on a sliding layer, often made of self-lubricating materials like bronze, Teflon, or polymer composites.
